well lets be more realistic…aiming for one a day but if i get one a week i shall not torment myself too much…the thing really is not too peak too early…peaking should be about 31st Dec 2011!

SO here it is…the People’s Chandelier.. it is here just outside Sheffield …where you can lose your hat on the bus and you will get it back…in a special house that is a hotel/conference centre www.wortleyhall.org.uk.. The snow came down  and all  looked completely amazing, so in between contact improvisation , singing, movement awareness I padded round the grounds. Wow! What can I say. The grounds looked stunning and I am so pleased to finally be able to say I am the proud owner of such a lovely chandelier. I am happy to announce that stripy socks and sandals with shoes  are de rigeur (just this weekend)  Also I can embrace the opportunity to hang out with people who wear socks and sandals at the same time. In fact, to be in a place where people feel comfortable enough to wear socks and sandals simultaneously and know that their dignity will remain intact is a miracle.

SONG OF THE DAY

You may not be a fan of this band but I sung this song acoustically the other month at our acoustic evening and it is really a fine song.

Well I am not actually on the train anymore, but I was and I went through my favourite station…St Pancras and am heading North and strangely it was sunny in Sheffield when i arrived though it was still raining in London. That is a first £19 first class single except there were two people next to me coughing and sneezing all the way up...so once again i have found that germs have no class either.

SONG OF THE DAY

well well strangely another train song…that is two out of four songs so far.

And the star of the evening was….Paul!  We don’t know any more about him except that he does not work at The Star in Chester Road N19. That- was closed when we arrived at 8.30pm last night, all set for our monthly acoustic evening. We could see lights on at the top, but the bar was definately closed. So, as others were already planning music at Neil’s with tea, we held on, tried to find phone numbers and then noticed a man with a crash helmet lurking outside the pub.

It was Paul’s takeway, and if he had not ordered it to arrive, then our evening would not have been half as jolly. He was just staying over the pub while the owners took a well deserved night off…away….All I can say is, he is a top diamond geezer as he phoned the owners and let us all in, stayed and watched the music , sorted out a makeshift bar which he manned with one of our performers the lovely and very talented Nikki.

It was a good night as Strong White and Stephens had come home from Uni  for the hols and brought all their mates which is always amazing as the average age of us all rapidly decreases by about 30 years..great atmosphere…the  fabulous Big Heath (played with glock and accordion) Bruin’s Ruin, Cynthia, DonanElla ( who won), Peter and Maggie, Stetsun Stan, Mickey and I (playing my guitar to!), Rob to name but a few and Siggy on MC duties. So thanks Paul and the owners for letting us have a great night.

SONG OF THE DAY

I heard it in a cafe today and it is without doubt the song with the best ‘additional vocals’ ever and boy have the Pips got the moves…choir members beware! any day now I might get you doing these.
