Things you might not know about me (but maybe you do )
I hate the sound of cellophane being opened in the cinema. I am not a fan of hundreds and thousands. Sprinkles, if that’s what you call them. I have a very sensitive gut. It will complain violently if I eat something it does not like.
People having conference calls in the quiet coach of a train make me disproportionately furious. On the other hand, I absolutely love telling lost people how to get from A to B on the London Underground. I also bow to small children dressed as royalty and hug random people.
I paint stones I find on beaches with ridiculously intricate patterns. I can spend an unreasonable amount of time painting pieces of unloved furniture. I listen to enormous quantities of audiobooks. mostly about becoming a better person.

I always carry Australian Emergency Rescue Remedy and, more often than not, half a bar of 85% dark chocolate. I say fuck far too often.
I love trains. I hate camping. Love small social events hate big parties. I hate sitting still I love dancing.
I can arrange complicated four and five-part harmony, then look at the music I have written and announce to a room full of singers, “None of this makes any sense to me.”
I’m not interested in skating across the surface of things. If there’s a metaphorical lake, I want to know what’s at the bottom, and I like people who are willing to come down there with me. I believe in clean slates, but I think you have to clean them first; “moving on” shouldn’t mean pretending nothing happened.
I have very little patience in instant expertise. Mate, you got to put the hours in!
I’m suspicious of anything that looks too perfect. I would rather see the fingerprints and the coffee stains.
I like people who can be profound and completely ridiculous within the same conversation.
I’m capable of turning what appears to be quite a small idea into something alarmingly large. I frequently begin things before I know exactly what they are.
I have written songs about subjects that possibly had no business becoming songs. I am much more interested in the strange route than the obvious one.
And apparently, if I write one song every week for long enough, I’ll end up with 324 songs -well that was today’s total. And there are hundreds of others I have written over the years. I have the ‘I am a songwriter ‘ t-shirt . Well actually I don’t but it would make a good present .
I started blogging in 2010 and have been random and sporadic. 2011 I posted every day and some years I just forgot . Wondered . Is anyone still out there?
