Photo of the Day – Condensation

Bedroom has 2 outer walls, a french window and ceiling that is someone else’s verandah, so is always cold. Even in this, a most mild winter we are waking up with the hint of the old glass leaf like frostings you used to see as a child when there was no central heating . When I was a fledgling teacher all those years ago and a complete nervous wreck about getting enough sleep before facing 100 or more inner city teenagers every day, I could not have the heating coming on an hour before we got up as the sound of it clicking in would wake me up, and the heat would send me back into a coma, so years later we continue to get up in the cold, which is probably much better for the constitution.

I would like to see those really lovely icy formations on the window again -like the one in this photo I found on the web, but do not really relish the thought of the weather that accompanies them. My  photo was taken as the ice was melting, so you can just see Mr P.’s green house and a couple of the large trees in the bigger gardens behind ours.

SONG OF THE DAY – Joni Mitchell – All I Want

A classic.

In Praise of a Cuppa, a Gossip and a Bit of Colouring In

The tidying, the broken appliances, the time off work which is supposed to be relaxing, but ends up being a bit stressful as the structure has all gone…The excruciating  physical pain of a type of condition it is not actually polite to talk about in mixed company. …it all got to much…I was like a kettle about to explode. So I ran off and escaped to a girlfriend’s house. We drank green tea, ate cheese and pineapple, did a bit of art and talked ourselves ragged.

Oh how much better did I feel! So much better. Thanks pal.

SONG OF THE DAY –Joni Mitchell -Woodstock

We are stardust ( millions year old carbon) we are golden…..still in keeping with the star lyric.

City and Country – Public Transport vs. Cars

Singing in the Barn

Singing in the country and then back to the city! Blue skies all day in the country!

blue skies...smiling on me

I spent time travelling around on trains and buses and cars, no tandems or horses..shame!

Home now, and on the sofa and I am not gonna move unless it is really necessary. Upstairs has his industrial sewing machine on, so up for a lovely relaxing evening in front of the tv with the humming of the machinist in the background! Deep Joy.

Baker Street

I am always amazed that people out of the city have to spend so much time in their cars, and have to thank them so much for shunting this urban non-driver from motel to eco-conference centre to railway station. It does sort of make me mad that in the city we can get around on public transport and then out of town people NEED cars as the public transport is so rubbish , and it’s completely chicken and egg.

prisoner of the white lines of the freeway

SONG OF THE DAY This song came to me as I was driven down a motorway..’prisoner of the white lines of the freeway’

Full Moon In Cancer

Here is  picture of the BIG MOON over North London

and a trail of lights from a London bus…both taken in the last day.

So Michelle Piller -Starstruck Astorlogy says this about the full moon in cancer for anyone of you who believes any of this ‘mumbo jumbo’ ( me!) ‘There’s something very insular about Cancer’s energy, and this is intensified by the Full Moon’s presence here. The Moon rules Cancer, after all. We are all called to take responsibility for our emotional responses; and to look to ourselves, and members of our spiritual family, to strengthen the ties that will yield greater emotional and financial security. Allow the heightened intuition that this lunation brings to guide you, as you seek to make life more comfortable for yourself and others this week.’ It’s that simple.

so…………………

Song of the Day

‘born with the moon in cancer’ came to mind as I walked down the road today. This song often makes me cry and funny it is about family ties, love, loss and selflessness.
