I was lucky enough to be involved in a fantastic art project organized by the Tate Britain for one of their family days. I worked with a couple of schools in Newham and the community artists Davina Drummond and Daniel Lehan.

SingUp asked me to help with the singing aspect of the project. Today 30 kids sang a fantastic medley of 8 songs they had chosen that went with 8 art works in room 9. Songs like ‘Man in the Mirror’, ‘Disturbia”Lean on Me’. It was a beautiful day and lots of parents came to watch them sing. The kids also had made kneelers and sewed on words and phrases from the songs.

I wore a tie to show solidarity for the fact the kids had to wear their uniform and had an inward chuckle of the irony of Tate and Lyle who produce one of the most addictive  substances known to children is sponsoring the event.. Thanks to the spoonful of sugar!
