Yup…I have to say that my £9 short wellies from Peacocks saved my weekend from being a washout. I kept going on and on about how great they were, boring everyone stupid with my whooping and repetitive over excitement about a pair of short blue spotty wellies. I loved the fact they were short as it meant I could get them off quickly too. Also I have wrestler’s calves, (give them back, they shout from the back of the stalls!) so tall wellies are always a bit of a squeeze. I then noticed that the stalwart festival and singing camp people really knew their wellies and having hardy, hunters wellies could be seen as a shrewd investment,

because, they look super dooper and wet feet is one of the biggest killjoy you can have when the rain comes down in sheets all through your camping experience. As the field got muddier and muddier I was looking down at my spotty wellies feeling all glowy and warm inside.

I remember one year at Glastonbury when we were literally up to our knees in mud, you would definately need the tall wellies. I have been scoffing at people and their tall Hunter wellies walking round Holloway ( no mud there, lots of concrete…) and now I see they probably got so used to wearing them in a field they just cant take them off….or they are just plain daft followers of fashion.
So hurrah for wellies! And hurrah for mud! And hurrah for just anything you can say hurrah about! hurrah!
Just have to have a picture of the Bet Lynch Marquee from Hereford Harmony this weekend, as it was so fab!
